End The Year Strong In Your Finances

Written by Pastor Ben Dailey  |  Found in: Main Articles

Dear Calvary Church,

Can you believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already? It’s almost Christmas! We are in the home stretch of 2017 and, in no time, the year will come to a close.

One of the best ways we can honor God in the last weeks of the year is with our personal finances. Here are eight simple ways you can end the year strong in your personal finances.

1. Do NOT go into debt for Christmas. Make a year-end plan this week that will save you from spending yourself into debt.

2. Pay something off today. Make a payment on a credit card or bill that will pay it off or put a dent into the lump sum.

3. Ask God to give you direction on who needs a blessing and how you can bless them.

4. Do a Saturday – pick a Saturday and put as much of your no-longer needed stuff on Craigslist as you can. The average American household has $2,200 worth of extra household items!

5. Automate some savings. Go into your online banking and set-up an automatic withdrawal of a percentage of your income to your savings account.

6. Name 5 things you are thankful for that God has provided for you and your family.

7. Re-quote your insurance. The average person who re-quotes their insurance receives a $500 - $700 savings, per year. Look at as a great website to try.

8. Ask God how He wants you to be obedient in your generosity to Calvary Church through the end of the year and set up reoccurring giving at

I want you to remember that when you give, everything goes toward funding a ministry that ultimately helps change lives. Thank you for being a part of Calvary Church and helping us accomplish the mission God has given us – declaring and demonstrating the Gospel to everyone, everyday, everywhere!

We love you.
