As believers, we are reminded of the importance and benefits of living a life full of thanksgiving and gratitude. During this season of Thanksgiving, Kim and I take the opportunity to reflect on some incredible things the Lord has done this past year! You may not realize it, but you have been an integral part. Because of your faithful generosity, the gospel is being declared and demonstrated to people both here locally and around the world – everyone, everyday, everywhere! Your sacrificial giving has enabled dreams to become realities. We are truly thankful for YOU!
Not only are Kim and I thankful to you for what your gifts have helped make possible this year, but we are also thankful to God for the doors He has opened. Let us give you 5 of the many areas God has opened this year:
1. Locations – This year Calvary launched two more locations in Griffin, Georgia, and Kenya.
2. Loving Our City – We partnered with Family First and Dallas Metro to support children in
foster care and inner city neighborhoods.
3. World Missions – We partnered with Moody Missions and Africa’s Children, providing
education and building physical structures allowing a place to worship out of the harsh
elements.
4. T.V. – Calvary launched a brand new TV program across the metroplex. Reaching over 101,000
people in October alone!
5. Gospel Institute – This year, Year 1 was launched with hundreds of students already
completing the first year of classes. We have already begun Year 2 preparations, including
special bonus classes!
As you can see, God has been opening these doors of opportunity plus many more to expand His kingdom and spread the gospel in ways we’ve not had access to in the past. We know that none of what has been accomplished could’ve happened without you—our partners and friends in the ministry. Your role in this ministry is priceless. You are like the engine that pulls the train. Without the engine, we aren’t going anywhere. And what takes place in the future depends on the continuing power of your support and others who believe God has called them to help take this message to the world.
We are beyond grateful for what God has done this past year, and we wholeheartedly believe we’ve just had a glimpse into what’s ahead for Calvary Church. We echo the Apostle Paul’s words in Ephesians 3:20, “Never doubt God’s mighty power to work IN YOU and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for His miraculous power constantly energizes you.”
This weekend we position ourselves to be the ones God works in and through to achieve our most unbelievable requests! As a collective act of gratitude for God’s faithfulness this year, we are asking each Calvary family to join us as we present a gift of generosity over and above our regular giving this Sunday, November 7 for Calvary’s Thanksgiving Offering.
